Primary Enterprise
Throughout the year we work with our feeder primary schools to spread the principles of enterprise education.
In March we run a half day event for Year 4 students. Ran in conjunction with DEBP "What's My Line" encourages children to use questioning and reasoning skills, communication both verbal and non-verbal, to deduce which job our invited business guests actually do! It is a fun event aimed at introducing younger children to the world of work.
In July we run our very popular Fair Trade "Food Festival" event. During the event Year 5 students set up businesses, design and create a product, market that product and produce spreadsheets and design materials for their business! In a short time children are enthused by the competitive element of the task and working in teams the event engages children in some of the principles of enterprise.
At our Christmas Fayre we invite local primary schools to run a trade stand selling their hand made products to vistors. This gives younger children the chance to trade in a real environment with real competition!
