Computers 4 Africa!

During the Summer holidays, we were lucky to be able to replace some of the older computers in school with lovely new models.  The new computers help some of the programmes and websites we use in school to load quickly.

This upgrade to some of our computer suites meant that our Network Manager had some older computers to recycle.  He contacted an organisation he had heard of called "Computers 4 Africa" .

This charity recycles donated computers, ships them out to Africa and installs them in schools which otherwise would have no access to technology.  They came to collect some PC's and monitors recently and were thrilled to be able to collect quite a few machines and monitors from Staindrop.

The organisation holds regular appeals where even if you have only 1 computer to donate, you can go along to one of their collection points and donate your old PC.  Bear in mind any donations must be in working order, less than 5 years old and have a minimum specification which you can read by visiting their website, link above.
