DiJi Hats Top Business in North-East

12 Year 10 students have just won a prestigious business award and been named top business group in the 14-16 category in the North East.

The 12, who took part in the annual "Make Your Mark" challenge came up with a fantastic business idea based on the difficulties they have whilst out and about ensuring their mobile devices remain charged and allowing them to keep in touch with parents.

72,000 students took part in this challenge throughout the UK, so being selected for the North East regional Final was a great achievement.  The group pitched their idea at Nissan Sports Club to a group of top North East business people.  10 schools took part.  As the various schools presented their propositions, the tension rose and when Staindrop was chosen as the overall winner, the team was elated!

Congratulations to them and fingers crossed as they go forward to represent their school AND their region at London on the 10 December.  They will be working with local business people between now and the UK final in order to further develop their business plan and ensure that Staindrop becomes named top UK school in the challenge!
