Primary Basketball Festival

Staindrop B&E College had the pleasure of hosting a Basketball Festival for some of our local Primary Schools on Tuesday 9th February 2010.

The primary school children received a coaching session from Staindrop PE teacher, Mr D. Elderkin, who is highly experienced in the coaching of Basketball.   They then competed against each team.  With the overall winner being the team to accumulate most points.

 

A group picture of all the students who enjoyed the Festival.  Some of our own Year 10 students, pictured in the dark blue, who are studying towards their Sports Leadership Award, assisted with the coaching, demonstrating some of the skills required to play.  They also assisted with the umpiring of the match.  

The winning team, Toft Hill A Team, receiving their certificate from Staindrop Head Teacher, Mr B. Kinnair.  
The Festival was organised by Miss Collins, a PE teacher at Staindrop Primary.  She was delighted that all the children enjoyed themselves, having fun, whilst learning and competing.
