World Book Day

Thursday 4th March is World Book Day.  This is the biggest annual celebration of books and reading in the UK and Ireland.  In Staindrop we are celebrating in a number of ways.  Mr Johnson, English teacher and school Literacy Co-ordinator, has organised for all Year 7 and 8 students to receive £1 vouchers for money off your next new book purchase!

For 15 minutes during form time, students are being encouraged to enjoy quiet reading on Thursday.

During lunchtime Year 7 and 8 students are invited to take part in a "Book Swap Shop".  Swaps can be temporary or permanent and parents should agree to their child participating.  Hopefully this will provide an opportunity to enjoy books fo free!
