Strictly Prom Dancing

Tuesday 30th March was another BIG day for Year 11!  In preparation for their Year 11 Prom,  Year 11 were learning how to waltz in the school hall.

It has become "the Staindrop way" that the first dance of the Prom is a traditional waltz.  This is the 4th year Staindrop has held a Prom for Year 11 and the first dance of the evening is a lovely moment in which students can begin to relax, after the more formal photos and dinner are finished.

In order to help students learn the steps to the waltz, Mr Towers organises for local, elderly residents to come into school and provide a dance class for all students attending the Prom.

Everyone managed to overcome their initial nervousness and join in.  We look forward to a wonderful evening at Headlam Hall for the Prom.
