Catering
Students at Staindrop B&E College can opt to stay for school lunches or bring a packed lunch. We have our own Chef, Mr G. Middleton, who along with his team, provide well balanced, healthy and tasty meals. Students have a range of meals to choose from with jacket potatoes, paninis, fruit salad and sandwiches also available daily.
During the fine weather of the summer term, there are outside catering facilities via a marquee allowing students to make the most of the fine weather and fresh air.
As a general rule £2 per day is sufficient to allow your child to slect a main course and dessert. There are also daily "meal deals" giving children the opportunity to purchase a hot main course and traditional pudding.
At morning breaktime (10.15am-10.30am) our catering team provide a late breakfast. Students can enjoy croissants or bacon and sausage rolls (60p approx). Students have access to water coolers and may fill plain bottles from the coolers. Bottles can be purchased from reception. Fruit juices are also available to purchase at lunchtime and break time from the dining room.
There are 2 dining rooms in school. Year 11 and year 7 use the "bottom" dining room in the new building and years 8, 9 and 10 the "top" dining room in the old building. Lunchtime is from 12.30pm - 1.15pm. Students wishing to bring packed lunches can eat them in the dining rooms or, in fine weather, outside. We have a very strict policy of no littering in school.
