Art and Design

Mrs Renton is our Head of Art at Staindrop B&E College.  All students study Art in Year's 7 and 8 and can opt to study Art further, at the point of option selection. 

Students who opt for Art take one or both of the following courses:

AQA GCSE Art and Design - Unendorsed - which means students can experiment with different media from clay to textiles, photography to graphics.  Assessment is coursework, 60% and a practical examination with unlimited preparation time, 40%.

BTEC First Certificate in Art and Design - which leads to the equivalent of 2 GCSE's.  There are 3 units of work to complete and no final examination.
