Health and Social Care

First Diploma in Health and Social Care

Students can opt in Year 8 for the Diplom or the Certificate in Health and Social Care.  The first diploma course is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grade A*-C.  Health and social care is a relevant qualification to a range of job opportunities including: childcare; nursing; teaching; youth or social work.

There are 6 units of work and assessment is through the completion of portfolios.  There is no final examination.

First Certificate in Health and Social Care

This course is worth 2 GCSE passes at grades A*-C and covers the same topics as the Diploma but only 3 units of work are completed.
