Religious Education

Miss Dyer is our head of Religious Education.  At Key Stage 3, Years 7 and 8, students study a variety of world religions through schemes of learning as based on the Durham Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education.

At Key Stage 4 students study a range of pathways in order to succeed in RE.  Some students will undertake a full course in RE by taking an exam at the end of Year 10 and another in Year 11.  The syllabus we follow is AQA syllabus B. There is no coursework element involved in this course. 

Alternatively students can undertake a short course exam in RE from the same syllabus.  Some students will be given the opportunity to gain an entry level certificate in Religious Education.  All exams in Religious Education last for 1hour 30 mins.
