Transport, Daily Timings and Homework

Transport

Due to our geographical location many of our students travel to school from surrounding villages on a bus.

Once you have confirmation of your child's place at Staindrop Business and Enterprise College, you will receive the relevant communications regarding transport from Durham County Council.

Please click here to visit Durham County Council's website providing full information regarding school transportation.

For any further queries please contact Mrs M. Johnson in school on 01833 660285.

 Homework

It is important for all pupils to develop the capacity to work on their own, meet deadlines and organise themselves outside the classroom.

It is school policy that:

  • homework is set and marked in all subjects
  • learning objectives and success criteria for homework are made clear to pupils
  • pupils are given more than one night (wherever possible) to do the work
  • the type of work should take a variety of forms including extension of class work, projects, research, reading and revision
  • the length of work varies depending upon the age and ability of the pupils
  • it is the responsibility of the teacher to ensure that the pupils record the work in the diary/planner
